Overview: Our client is one of the leading Real-Estate organizations based in Barbados with a proven reputation for excellent customer service. Due to expansion, they are seeking to appoint a strong Temporary Accounts clerk (6months).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Posting of charges to relevant accounts.
  • Ensure vendor accounts are kept current and adjustments made in a timely manner to balance vendor statements and outstanding bills to ensure expenses recognized are accurate.
  • Ensure monthly paid vendors are paid by due dates to maintain our good credit standing.
  • Process payments to take advantage of discounts.
  • Reconciliation of assigned monthly supplier statements to ensure outstanding bills are kept current and credit available for use.
  • Issue draft owner statements monthly by a specified deadline.
  • Management of Tourism Levies including:
  • Preparation and submission of returns and payments prior to the deadline.
  • Coordinating with property managers and owners to ensure information is provided for owner-referred bookings.
  • Maintain appropriate schedules to ensure adequate backup remains on file in case of audits.
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for VAT and Room Levy-related audits and queries.
  • Inputting journal entries.
  • Reconciliation and replenishment of Property Management Petty Cash for assigned property managers.
  • Verification and correction of monthly owner statements for assigned property managers.
  • Prepare and complete bank reconciliations for accounts assigned.
  • Respond to queries relating to owner accounts from Property Managers.
  • Follow up on general queries from the BRA and provide any additional information requested.

Requirements

  • A Diploma/Degree in Accounts or business-related field.
  • Good Working knowledge of QuickBooks would be an asset.
  • Good ability to work under pressure.
  • Good accounting knowledge with attention to details
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Demonstrate sound decision-making and professional judgment.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills – both oral and written.
