Job Title – Technician – Level I

 Purpose/Summary

To directly support the Operations project Team (Tech II, Tech III and Field Supervisors) in the execution of project scopes on site, within the Company’s HSEQ Systems and the Client’s Safety and Work policies and procedures. 

 Key Responsibilities & Main Activities

  1. Pressurized Welding Enclosure (Habitat) construction assembly and disassembly.
  2. Monitoring of welding enclosure for structural integrity during job execution.
  3. Fire-watching and door entry attendant duties.
  4. Participate in preparation of JSA’s & toolbox talks daily. Review of safe work plans and procedures for jobs.
  5. Assist with locating and installation of temporary field equipment, cabling and field devices used for monitoring and controlling of Habitat control system operation.
  6. Move materials to and from the work site and assist with the erection of ‘hot-work’ enclosures and spark containments. This will include manual lifting with proper techniques and body positioning.
  7. Assist with function testing of Habitat control system and field devices.
  8. Cleaning and storing of Habitat equipment on completion of jobs.
  9. Carrying out on-site duties and tasks in an off-shore environment, as well as on-land job sites.
  10. Assist with unpacking, cleaning, inspection and storage of equipment and enclosure materials after these are returned to the office from field projects.
  11. Assist Field Supervisor and/or Technician II with equipment set up and function testing.
  12. Maintain Company’s Quality Assurance level, relative to the job function at all times.
  13. Ensuring safety of oneself as well as others.
  14. Follow the Company HSE policies and procedures.
  15. Contribute to the success of the Company’s HSE System through participation, observations and feedback.
  16. Maintain confidentiality with regards to all accessible company information and documentation.

 Certification & Competencies:

  • O-Level passing grades in at least 5 subjects, including Mathematics and English A, would be preferred.
  • A craft certificate in Electrical and or Instrumentation would be considered an asset.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Work experience in the Energy Sector, Petrochemical or Oil & Gas Industry would be preferred.
  • Offshore work experience would be an considered an asset.

  • Ability to operate in a physically demanding environment
  • Good interpersonal skills, cooperative spirit and ability to work with teams
