Maintenance Technician – Feed Mill
Compensation: $40 - $55 per hour

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Maintenance Technician to oversee and
guide contracted maintenance technicians at our feed mill. This position reports to the
Maintenance Lead Charge Hand. This role ensures the execution of a reliable, safe,
and efficient maintenance program while continuously improving maintenance
strategies through documentation and feedback. The ideal candidate will be responsible
for ensuring that all maintenance activities align with safety standards, operational
excellence, and production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead contracted maintenance technicians, ensuring tasks are
completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Implement and manage a preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime
and increase equipment reliability.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and
hydraulic systems.
Maintain PLC control systems and motor control circuits for optimal plant
performance.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for major breakdowns and implement
corrective actions.
Coordinate with operations and management teams to prioritize and schedule
maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all
maintenance operations.
Document maintenance activities, inspections, and work orders using a
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Assist in budgeting and procurement of maintenance tools, spare parts, and
equipment.
Required Competencies & Technical Knowledge:

Internal
Electrical Systems: Strong understanding of 12kV, 440V, 110V, and 24V systems
Motor Control Systems: Ability to troubleshoot and maintain electrical motors and
controls
PLC Controls: Basic understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
and automation systems
Hydraulics & Pneumatics: Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic
systems for machinery operation
Mechanical Systems: Experience with conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, and other
mechanical components
Welding & Fabrication: Basic skills in welding and fabricating for minor repairs
Construction Craft Supervision: Understanding of basic construction and facility
maintenance

Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial or commercial maintenance
environment as a maintenance technician& Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Technology (EET) or Mechanical Engineering Technology (MEET) or National
Engineering Technician Diploma (NETD)
Experience working in a feed mill, food processing, or heavy industrial setting is a
plus
