To lead and develop an overall talent management strategy to attract, retain and engage the right talent to drive Company initiatives and strategy, and partner with key stakeholders to deliver business results

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES:

  • Oversee full cycle recruitment and selection process, partnering with business leaders on workforce planning, staffing and sourcing strategies, selection methods, and job offers within approved headcount.
  • Ensure onboarding, role transitions and orientation are done in a professional manner that enhances the employee experience.
  • Design and deliver learning and development programmes, conduct training needs analysis, developing and administering training plans and evaluate training programme effectiveness, to meet current and future business competency requirements.
  • Manage performance management processes, succession planning, talent mapping, and provide coaching and mentoring to drive a high-performance culture.
  • Support the roll-out of company initiatives to ensure successful implementation and identify appropriate change strategies to achieve desired results.
  • Provide analytical and well-documented talent reports, including standard talent metrics.
  • Gauge employee sentiment through engagement surveys and employee focus groups and use insights to design, deploy and evaluate engagement plans, rewards and recognition programmes and employee activities to enhance the employee experience and foster a positive work culture.
  • Advise on all personnel issues ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, local laws, collective agreements, and the achievement of business objectives whilst ensuring consistent application in the departments.
  • Supervise junior team members to ensure consistency of service to client groups, managing client expectations appropriately and keeping workstreams on schedule.
  • Contribute to the design, development and implementation of Human Capital Strategic Plans and budgets.
  • Lead project work as needed with an eye for continuous improvement.
  • Performs any other duties that may be assigned to you by your management line to ensure effective operation of the department.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology or related field
  • Professional membership of an accredited HR Association or HR Certification would be an asset
  • Three (3) – Five (5) years’ work experience in recruitment or learning and development plus 3+ years’ experience managing a team or operating at a professional level required
  • Prior experience in a unionized environment would be considered an asset
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Critical thinker, with demonstrated experience translating strategic goals/concepts into action plans and implementing initiatives at an operational level.
  • Change Management, Business Partnership, consultation, and strong written and verbal communication skills and effective presentation skills
  • Tech savvy with strong digital media skills, exposure to HRIS and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of workforce planning and talent management practices
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills along with conflict resolution skills
  • Must be team player and results-oriented with a strong client focus and responsiveness
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Human Resources practices and employment law
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing demands and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
