JOB TITLE: SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Are you an experienced IT Systems Administrator looking for an opportunity to make a real impact? We are seeking a proactive and results-driven individual to support our operations by managing and enhancing our IT infrastructure and technical support services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. IT Infrastructure Management & Maintenance
- Oversee server administration, ensuring optimal performance, patch management, and uptime.
- Manage all software applications and productivity tools.
- Manage hardware upgrades and configurations.
- Ensure proper network performance, security, and connectivity. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues promptly.
- Implement and enforce IT policies, best practices, and security protocols.
- Liaise with technology vendors on purchase of new equipment.
- Work closely with MSPs and other third parties to ensure all systems are optimally managed.
2. User & Desktop Support
- Provide technical support for employees, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with company policies.
- Train employees on IT best practices, cybersecurity awareness, and new software applications.
3. Security & Compliance
Work with MSPs to:
- Ensure endpoint security, including antivirus updates, security patches, and system hardening.
- Monitor network security, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities before they become threats.
- Manage firewall, VPN, and access control policies to safeguard company data and systems.
- Conduct periodic IT security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
4. PBX & Telephony System Management
- Maintain and troubleshoot the PBX phone system, ensuring clear and reliable communication.
- Configure extensions, call forwarding, voicemail, and other telephony features for staff.
5. Data & Application Management
- Administer and maintain software application servers such as Microsoft Office 365, Azure, Active Directories, Accounting, HR, Claims Management, Customer Management, and other brokerage specific software.
- Work with vendors and third-party providers to resolve software-related issues.
6. Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Implement and manage automated backup solutions to protect critical business data.
- Conduct regular system backups and perform test recoveries to validate data integrity.
- Develop and execute disaster recovery plans, ensuring business continuity in case of system failures.
7. Continuous Improvement & IT Strategy
- Stay updated with emerging IT trends and technologies to improve business operations.
- Research, recommend, and implement new software, tools, or processes to enhance productivity.
- Collaborate with management to align IT strategies with business goals.
- Maintain accurate IT documentation, network diagrams, and asset inventories.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred). Equivalent IT certifications and relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- Certifications (preferred but not mandatory) such as Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, Enterprise Administrator Expert, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+
Preferred Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems administration and network management.
- Hands-on experience with Office 365, Intune, and Active Directory.
- Experience managing PBX phone systems.
- Experience in managing software applications for accounting, HR, payroll, and so on.
- Strong knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
- Experience with cybersecurity best practices.
