The role of the Systems Administrator is to assist with planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget throughout the Group.
Assist with the installation and maintenance of computer units, servers, network storage, and networking equipment.
Configure hardware and the Operating Systems to ensure applications are operational.
Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
Assist and perform daily maintenance and upgrades of networks, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems.
Practice network asset management and related documentation and technical specifications, including monitoring of network components for integrity and availability of all server and network resources.
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.
Maintain system standards for installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance procedures.
Deploy and manage the movement of equipment, including servers, routers, switches, computers, printers, and scanners.
Manage systems, including e-mail, Telephony, DHCP, DNS Active Directory, GPO, and print servers
Maintain and verify backup servers/systems.
Administer and maintain end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Manage the organization’s standardized communications and connectivity solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, company Web site, intranet, and Internet applications.
Investigate, anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, networks, systems, service issues, and other software problems on workstations and other computer equipment.
Provide first-hand support, training, and troubleshooting to all office staff for technology matters
Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
Coordinate with stakeholders to implement desktop systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives.
Provide the necessary information for the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
Performs any other duties which are incidental or consequential to the above, as may be assigned by the Head of Department or representative.
