System Specialist

We're hiring a System Specialist to manage our servers, backups, and networks. You'll need strong IT skills and experience

We are seeking a skilled System Specialist to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of system administration, network infrastructure, and data management. This role will be responsible for the maintenance and optimization of our server infrastructure, including backups, RAID environments, and virtual infrastructures.

Responsibilities

• Server Administration:
  • Manage and maintain physical and virtual server environments.
  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot server hardware and software.
  • Ensure server performance, security, and reliability.
• Backup and Recovery:
  • Implement and manage backup strategies to protect critical data.
  • Test and restore backup systems to ensure data integrity.
  • Develop disaster recovery plans and procedures.
• RAID Environments:
  • Configure and manage RAID arrays for data redundancy and performance.
  • Monitor RAID health and implement proactive maintenance.
• Virtualization:
  • Administer and optimize virtual infrastructure platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Create and manage virtual machines, storage, and networking.
  • Ensure virtual environment performance and availability.
• Network Infrastructure:
  • Collaborate with network engineers to maintain network connectivity and performance.
  • Troubleshoot network-related issues and provide technical support.
• Documentation:
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in system administration.
• Strong understanding of server hardware, operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), and virtualization technologies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
• Knowledge of network protocols and troubleshooting techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have a working vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Server+.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of data security best practices and compliance standards.
