The preferred candidate will be responsible for the implementation of supply chain strategies that achieve cost savings, process improvements and service innovation. The role involves the management of the entire procurement process, sourcing of suppliers and managing vendor relationships to ensure a seamless supply chain, while optimizing costs.

 About the Role and the Person 

Reporting to the General Manager with dotted line accountability to the Group CEO, the Supply Chain Manager will manage the internal operations and resources of the purchasing department to enable the delivery of agreed targets, quality improvements and day to day operations; builds professional relationships with all stakeholders and collaborates with cross-functional teams towards strategic decision-making. 

Equipped with knowledge of various technical tools, design models and innovative approaches operating within the food industry, he/ she will have demonstrated knowledge of logistics and supply chain both locally and internationally, understand supply chain for the food service; familiar with different shipping lines; understands the workings of government ministries and agencies relied on for business support and approvals and have a working knowledge of food safety and auditing processes.Assigned to RAL’s Kingston location, the Supply Chain Manager has the following core responsibilities:

  •  Maintains Service Level Agreements with internal and external stakeholders.
  •  Ensures that team members comply with the Quick Service Restaurants Group’s (QSRG) corporate governance rules and implements supply chain policies and procedures.
  •  Negotiates favorable terms with suppliers, ensuring that pricing and deliveries are based on specific budgetary guidelines and inventory schedules to keep production supplies maintained.
  • Monitoring of inventory levels, analyzing demand patterns and implementing inventory management strategies to manage stock levels and avoid excessive shortages, excesses and carrying costs.
  • Preparing and presenting reports on procurement metrics to track performance, identifying areas for improvement and reporting on sourcing effectiveness.       
  • Ensures that all overtime worked by the staff is authorized, monitored, recorded and submitted in line with the QSRG’s policy.
  • Implements HR policies and procedures and ensures that all staff attend training programs.
  • Undertakes effective cost of sales budget planning and management in accordance with procedures.
  • Supports the QSRG's expansion plans to ensure adequate inventory levels
  • Provides and receives complex data and information in relation to supply chain activity and performance which includes but not limited to variance analysis, weekly/monthly reconciliations and reports.
  • Provides leadership in engaging and networking with relevant stakeholders, key current and future suppliers and professional bodies.
  • Champions change and innovation, fostering an enabling culture and engages with others in discussions about proposed changes, the reasons and benefits

Qualifications, Experience and Profile:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent qualification;
  • Professional training in Accounting and Supply Chain Management.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience leading supply chain operations within the food industry
  • Familiar with various applications used in supply chain/purchasing operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of consulting and collaborating with relevant government ministries and agencies towards securing permits and approvals relating to food importation.
  • Ability to work within a cross-functional team environment, manage multiple tasks as well as project management.
