The Senior Warehouse Manager is responsible for the smooth and safe operation of a busy Retail and distribution facility. In addition to managing daily operations, the Warehouse Manager will also be responsible for the future development of systems and procedures that enhance the operation.
The position shall cover the following areas:
Responsibility includes managing the daily operations of all warehouse areas by directly supervising the relevant staff in effectively maintaining full organization and careful movement of the Company’s products.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Senior Warehouse Manager
1. Manage warehouse and receiving major business projects and initiatives.
2. Build and maintain a positive, team-oriented culture that demonstrates consistent work practice and integrity.
3. Communicate daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal goals and objectives to all levels of associates within the facility. Provide guidance to the warehouse and receiving teams in order to achieve those goals.
4. Ensure the warehouse and receiving departments have adequate staffing resources to execute functions and cover workload as per seasonal demand.
5. Ensure all necessary Receiving SOP’s and related procedures and processes are documented, implemented, reviewed and adhered to.
6. Ensure all necessary Warehouse SOP’s and related procedures and processes are documented, implemented, reviewed and adhered to.
7. Ensure all SOPs and processes linked to inventory control are in line with the requirements of the Inventory Management System
8. Coordinate with Store Operations for daily replenishments and seasonal demands.
9. Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation. Create and implement actions plans that improve operational processes and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
10. Monitor warehouse productivity and maintain appropriate records.
11. Provide weekly management reports on Inventory status along with recommendations with regards to the following-
Aged inventory and plans to liquidate.
Flow of goods from warehouse to retail floor.
Storage
Buying patterns existing inventory in Warehouse.
12. Plan and execute stock-taking exercises as per the company’s policies.
Reporting Responsibilities: Reports to the Executive Board
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises the entire Warehouse Department.
Education:
Degree or Diploma in Business Operations, Management or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Warehouse Management in a retail environment.
Several years of progressively responsible experience and familiarity operating computerized inventory systems is required.
Essential Skills:
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management System (WMS) as well as MS Office, Excel.
• Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health practices.
• Knowledge in warehouse logistics and best practices.
• Exemplary leadership, coaching and team building skills.
• Proven ability to manage and plan labor requirements and initiatives in the workforce.
Other Skills:
• Have a detailed understanding of inventory control / management systems.
• Strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer focused working environment.
Job Conditions
Will be spending 100% of time in the Warehouse unless required to travel for special projects.
