SENIOR REVENUE OFFICER (Level 6)
Vacant- (Three-year contract)
Salary Range: $2,803, 771.00 - $3,770,760.00 per annum
Job Purpose:
Under the direction of the Director, Finance and Accounts, the Senior Revenue Officer is responsible for monitoring the REAJ’s total revenue transactions. The incumbent studies the financial situation of the entity and performs research to determine the best revenue generating and collecting strategies. The Officer monitors the accounts of clients to ensure timely payments to the authority. The incumbent tracts revenue through the various network systems and ensures that receipts are properly recorded and posted to the correct client account. The Officer also works closely with the Operations division in the development of strategies to increase total revenue.

Key Responsibility Areas:
Technical Responsibilities
Implement strategies to improve the collection of receivables balances due to the agency.
Prepares/ Generates monthly and quarterly reports on all revenues collected and those outstanding to the entity to inform decision making and to support the legal department.
Provides/Generates invoices for services provided to Clients (e.g. charges for: verbatim minutes for Dispute Resolution Minutes; list of approved Real Estate Practitioners, etc.).
Prepares statements of Accounts for Hearings conducted by the Board of Directors and the Tribunal pursuant to the provisions of the relevant Acts regulations and guidelines.
Reviews REAJ files to ascertain outstanding amounts owed by Salesmen, Dealers & Developers Shared Communities eg Strata Corporations, Time Share Developers.
Identifies additional avenues for revenue generation to continually improve the financial status of the REAJ.
Reconciles payments on ACCPAC and the REAJ Information System to ensure that client information is accurate, and where discrepancies are found, inform the relevant officers.
Updates and prepares statements of account for clients.
Confers with clients over the telephone or in person to determine the reasons for overdue payments.
Meets with clients to discuss state of accounts and negotiates payment plans and other options.
Checks bank statements for payments daily, identifies source and document/ generate request for receipting to the appropriate accounts.
Answers client queries regarding their statements of account.
Prepares delinquent lists of non-compliant clients; and updates these lists periodically to inform compliance and the activities of the Legal Officer, Directors (CSC and REB Inspectorate) and subsequent recommendations to the Board of Directors.
Generates invoices/demand letters or makes contact by telephone to recover any funds owing to the Authority (example: Bank Service Charges, Returned Cheque Charges, Court Fees or any other charges incurred by the Authority through pursuing delinquent clients).
Informs Management and the relevant operational unit of the regulated entity/professional who fail to settle payments after being contacted and make recommendations for collections.
Logs all pertinent correspondence/communication trails pertaining to delinquent Real Estate Practitioners and Strata Corporations on Client Relationship Management System.
Updates Maintenance Received Log, Rent Received Log and prepares invoices for Tenants and follow up on receipt/collection of income.
Performance Standards:
Statements of Account are prepared accurately and updated daily.
Information disseminated to clients and internal staff promptly and accurately.
Strategies recommended and implemented to increase revenue streams in keeping with established the guidelines and procedures.
Delinquent clients prompted to make payment, resulting in a higher percentage of outstanding fee collection.
Payment transactions recorded accurately in accordance with established standards.
File audits completed to ensure accuracy of records in accordance with established standards.
Up to date Delinquency listing generated within agreed time frame and according to established standards.
Bank accounts reconciled and discrepancies addressed within agreed timeframe
Reports are accurate and factual and prepared/generated in accordance to established standards
Minimum Education & Experience:
First Degree in Finance, Accounting or Management from a recognized tertiary institution.
A minimum of three (3) years post-graduation experience in accounting.
Experience in debt recovery would be an asset.
