The incumbent is responsible for operationalization and continuous improvement of the regional Branding and Communications programs, associated marketing activities to drive new business growth through effective and efficient brand and product promotion.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and operationalize a strategy that drives new business and retention revenue, through brand building activities.
  • Create a cohesive annual plan using the above elements to ensure the sustainability of the Beacon brand and achieve the objectives outlined by the business. 
  • Ensure the relevance of each program in each market to create a customized but brand-aligned brand presence
  • Develop appropriate strategic alliances, advertising campaigns, storytelling strategies and media plans by market, to increase engagement with and reach of the Beacon brand.
  • Continuously and accurately assess brand performance and market conditions in all markets.
  • Ensure that market-specific content is provided for the purpose of social media content creation per approved plans.
  • Work with the various business segments to conceptualize and deliver agreed programs and activities to help them meet projected revenue targets.
  • Maintain and where appropriate, develop reports that provide clear and summarized insights into the performance of Marketing and advertising programs, competitors and market needs. 
  • Work with appropriate third parties to ensure that programs are meticulously planned, adequately developed and seamlessly executed to obtain positive brand and business results.
  • Supervise time and attendance of staff members 
  • Conduct Performance evaluations 
  • Set and monitor the achievement of SMART goals and initiatives within the Division. 
  • Manage staff members in line with company policies and procedures 
  • Create performance goals, training plans and professional development plans for staff members 
  • Conduct Monthly – Check Ins with team members to ensure they are meeting set goals within timelines.  
  • Create and manage Onboarding plans where required 
  • Act as a subject matter expert for relevant learning and development programmes 
  • Create and conduct learning and development programmes and evaluations for assigned team members.  
KEY TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the core principles of insurance and how this is applied on a day-to-day basis.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the range of insurance products and services available in the market.
  • Knowledge of the underwriting processes and procedures, the factors that affect the performance of an underwriting portfolio and how risk exposure can be monitored and controlled.
  • Knowledge of Beacon and the wider insurance marketplace and how this is applied on day-to-day basis.
  • Individual’s ability to consistently come up with new and engaging material based on current market trends and target audience.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree in Marketing or Communications, MBA would be an asset
  • Certificate qualifications in Digital advertising are an asset
  • Project management certification will be an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Marketing and Advertising
  • Minimum of 3 years working at a Supervisory level in a similar environment
  • Multi-market experience is required
  • Full understanding of how to measure and manage marketing program and employee performance
  • Has led projects before
