SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST – FINANCE

JOB SUMMARY

To oversee and held responsible for assigned segments of the financial reporting function. To ensure timely completion of reconciliations and the company's monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports whilst ensuring, at all times, that the most relevant and up-to-date international financial reporting standards and GAAP are applied to day-to-day operations.

KEY FUNCTIONS

Monthly Closing of Financial Reports and reconciliations

  • To be responsible for the provision and timely completion of various inputs used for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and/or Financial Statements.
  • To be held responsible for the preparation of assigned segments of financial reporting functions. These functions are to be completed in line with the timelines provided by departments manager.
  • To perform variance analysis reports and investigations with recommendations for any adjustments based on findings.
  • To be held responsible for the timely completion of all assigned reconciliations.
  • The timelines for the above would be reflected in the Financial Statements Close Process.

Financial Operations

  • Review and approval of Purchase Requisitions {Finance approval).
  • Ad hoc or routine reconciliations, calculations, creation of Gls, projects or any items under the Financial Controller's umbrella of functions, financial investigations, journals input and or postings and timely supply of information or reports to relevant parties such as other departments, auditors, TATT, BIR etc.
  • Source and apply correct rates from Central Bank, validation of liability posted on ledgers and notification of Accounts Payable.
  • Development of financial models.
  • Development and implementation of new or updated IFRSs.

Controls

  • Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of monthly controls on assigned significant general ledger accounts, which includes detailing opening and closing accruals and validation of the basis for monthly charges to the management accounts.
  • To provide inputs via consultation, into the implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures and systems to ensure efficient and effective financial management over the operations of the company; Document all procedures within the Department and ensure standardization as it relates to IAS, IFRS and GAAP. To support the development, monitoring and improvement, of an efficient corporate-wide accounting system via consultation with team.
  • To consult with team members in the development of projections and make recommendations that increase the reliability and validity of the company's predictions for future cash flow, its ability to meet its financial obligations and its overall financial health.
  • To provide requested information to Auditors and responsible for follow up on implementation of Departments Internal & External Audit recommendations.

 

Miscellaneous

  • Workplace Safety- validates that all work is completed in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Waiver of tenders, RFPs, and tenders financial sign-off for all non-CAP EX-related items.
  • Ensure all work promotes relevant, accurate, reliable and timely information.
  • Performs such other related duties/tasks as assigned by the Section Manager, Senior Manager or CFO.
  • Work with other Finance Departments to ensure accurate transfer of information and reporting.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • ACCA, CFA, CIMA, CMA and/ or equivalent will be an asset

 

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • A minimum of five years' financial experience in the telecommunication industry at a senior/supervisory level.
  • Experience in financial modeling, interrogation, and data analysis to develop strategic decision-making analytics, reports, and recommendations.
  • Experience with Office Productivity Tools such as MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Visio and MS Project.
  • Experience with ERP and budgeting applications.
  • NOTE: Any relevant combination of qualifications and experience at an appropriate level to competently perform required duties will be considered.

  • Treasury and Stakeholder Management: Includes knowledge of working capital management, cash management, capital structures, treasury management, financing sources and initiatives, valuations, risk management, foreign exchange management, and macroeconomic analyses.
  • Financial Planning: Includes skills such as budget development, forecasting, and analysis; also includes setting financial goals and managing financial resources.
  • Data Analysis: Analyzes and draws insights from relevant data to identify organizational challenges and opportunities. Uses storytelling to communicate insights and actionable, data-informed recommendations effectively.
  • Ability to convey specific information about a specific issue/requirement to a specific audience for a specific purpose. The words used are practical: to communicate a body of factual information that will help an audience understand a subject or carry out a task. There must be depth, logic, clarity, conciseness, correctness, and comprehensiveness in the writing.
  • Ability to anticipate, understand and respond to the needs of internal and external customers to meet or exceed their expectations within the organization's parameters.
