Basic Salary: $4,269,000.00 per annum

SCOPE OF WORK

 

Senior Accountant

 

Reports to:                     Financial Controller

 

Direct Report:                Financial Accountant

                                      Accounting Clerks

 

 

JOB PURPOSE:    Reporting to the Financial Controller, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the company's, financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to the Financial Controller. 

 

 

KEY OUTPUTS:

 

  • Financial reports are prepared
  • Account balance and bank statements are reconciled
  • Timely submission of budget
  • Reconciliation of accounts
  • Carrying costs are minimized
  • Cost deviations are tracked and corrective actions taken
  • Reduction in inventory obsolescence
  • Accounting procedures are established and maintained
  • Operational goals of the department are met

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with FAA and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop annual department budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
  • Monitor variances between actual and budgeted performance and provide

recommendations for improvement.

  • Analyze product costs, manufacturing processes, and overhead expenses to identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Conduct variance analysis to track deviations from standard costs and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for manufacturing and operational expenses.
  • Develop accurate forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and business projections.
  • Monitor performance against budget and forecast and regularly update senior management.
  • Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
  • Implement inventory control procedures to minimize carrying costs and reduce inventory obsolescence.
  • Reconciling account balances and bank statements٫ maintaining the general ledger٫ preparing month-end close procedures and ensuring accuracy and effectiveness
  • Support the Financial Controller in establishing and maintaining accounting control procedures
  • Assist the Financial Controller in ensuring financial operations goals are achieved
  • Prepare GCT reconciliations to compare GCT returns
  • Manage internal and external auditor requests or exercises throughout the year

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • First Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, OR ACCA Fundamentals.

 

  • At Least five (5) years’ experience working in an accounting department at a senior level
