Job Summary:
The Sales representative will serve customers by selling products, meeting customer needs and Company sales budgets. The position is required to assist in the strengthening of current and newly established professional relationships, as well as the generation of new viable and profitable business opportunities for the specialized range of products the Company sells. All relationships are to lead towards finding, promoting and securing profitable sales opportunities with architects, engineers, consultants, quantity surveyors, building contractors and facilities managers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
▪Service existing accounts, obtain orders and submit quotations by referring to price lists and product literature
▪Establish new accounts by planning and organizing a daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers
▪Prepare, schedule and conduct sales meetings with customers, including architects, engineers, consultants, building contractors, project developers, building owners, interior designers and facilities managers
▪Acquire a complete working knowledge and full technical competence of all products and services offered by the Company from a technical, sales and marketing perspective, and effectively communicate this knowledge to current and prospective customers
▪Integrate with other sales persons and Managers to maximize the benefit from opportunities arising out of marketing and business development initiatives, while selling and cross-selling all products offered by the Company
▪Ensure conformance with specification requirements while maintaining excellent customer service
▪Recommend changes in products, services and policies by evaluating results and competitive developments
▪Tenacious follow through and precise monitoring of all assigned projects to ensure sales profit and customer satisfaction. Offer workable solutions to problems encountered in the interest of both the Company and customer
▪Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to management
▪Follow up on all outstanding debtors in an assertive manner
▪Ensure that accurate invoicing for assigned projects is carried out in an accurate and timely manner
▪Generate accurate quotations ensuring submissions for projects are completed in a timely manner, in accordance with the specifications provided, advising customers on the better solutions to problems encountered in the best interest of both the Company and customer
▪Keep Management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily sales call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual customer analyses
▪Collaborate with Management to develop appropriate product positioning strategies to ensure that all communication is relevant to the target audience and consistent with the client’s strategies and reputation
▪Work with Management on the development and execution of viable plans to visit construction professionals on a scheduled basis to supply updated catalogues and gather important market activity data, and assist in visiting new and existing customers on a regular scheduled basis
▪Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc
▪Perform similar or related duties deemed appropriate by Management
Training:
▪Attend training programs as required by the Company. Continuously update product knowledge. It is required that there is investment of personal time for self-training in product knowledge, software and hardware
▪Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies
Job Education and Training:
▪At least seven (7) CXC Passes including Mathematics and English (Grades 1-2)
▪Sales and Marketing Training and Certification evidenced by a Diploma or other similar training or qualification
Job Experience:
▪Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated sales experience
▪Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset
▪Ability to interpret architectural drawings is considered an asset

▪Ability to service customers throughout Trinidad & Tobago, and to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment
▪Expected to conduct business with uncompromised ethics
▪Precise follow through and organisation on all assigned projects
▪Valid driver’s license
▪Must own a reliable working vehicle
▪ Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Office Suite
