CAREER OPPORTUNITY

SALES & CUSTOMER SERVICE CLERK

(CASHIER)

The incumbent is responsible for providing excellent customer service by ensuring that customers’ needs are met, orders are processed accurately and queries handled in a timely manner; duties include but are not limited to:

 

  1. the preparation of quotations, sales orders, invoices and credit notes  
  2. collecting customer data on relevant application/information forms
  3. the preparation of receipts and deposits
  4. following up with Accounts dept on direct payments for cash invoices
  5. advising customers on  return policies, prices, availability of products, product uses etc.
  6. performing telephone operating functions; handling sales-related queries
  7. processing approved cash vouchers

 

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

 

  • High level of accuracy in performing duties
  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills
  • Display high levels of honesty, integrity and cooperation.
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality and general work ethic.
  • Multi-tasking - Timeliness in handling calls, preparing invoices, reconciliations 

 

EQUIPMENT USED

 

Computer, Telephone, Calculator, Cash pan, Money Counter, Printer, Electronic card machine, Scale, Security panic button, Fax machine/Copier.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

 

Minimum: Business Diploma, High School Graduate, Five passes in CXC or equivalent subjects including Mathematics and English *

Food Handlers’ Permit

Knowledge of good manufacturing practices

HACCP awareness training

Police Record

 

 

EXPERIENCE

 

*Two years working experience in clerical duties or cashiering.

 

SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE

 

Must have sound knowledge of company products & services offered, product codes, prices.

Must become familiar with customers and their business

Customer service techniques
