This senior level career position requires an experienced and motivated individual who will bring years of accounting experience, including a solid understanding of reconciliations, budgeting and financial reporting to an organization undergoing massive expansion and growth.

This senior level career position requires an experienced and motivated individual who will bring years of accounting experience, including a solid understanding of reconciliations, budgeting and financial reporting to an organization undergoing massive expansion and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced accounting functions such as ledger/account maintenance, reconciliation, posting, analyzing, auditing, and verifying internal records and reports.
  • Prepare monthly financial and regulatory reports, including but not limited to, cash-flow, budgeting, forecasting, and risk analysis.
  • Build dashboards containing KPI’s to monitor the company's performance.
  • Effectively collaborate with all aspects of the business to support success in alignment with the strategic plan.
  • Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
  • Liaise with other departments to implement cost savings initiatives for the organization.
  • Assist in the management of annual financial audits to ensure completion within schedule.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting procedures to strengthen internal controls.
  • Assist with financial consolidation by developing internal control policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the internal controls to ensure effective accounting systems and policies are in place.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide direction, training and mentoring to the team.
  • Assist with delegating financial responsibilities to the accounting team.
  • Provide supervision and training to the accounting team.
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and better use of resources including the impact on other departments.
  • Keep abreast of trends in and related business functions to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the company.

 

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc.) majoring in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification, preferably ACCA.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in general accounting or similar position.
  • Supervisory experience would be an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of principles, procedures and practices in finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Knowledge of SAGE/ACCPAC or Dynamics 365 Business Central would be an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to frame and evaluate complex issues quickly.
  • Proven ability to form positive relationships with staff and to work collaboratively and professionally in a team-oriented environment and as a dedicated team member.
  • Highly motivated, resourceful, flexible, and able to display a sense of humor even under pressure.
  • Strong analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills coupled with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
