The Senior Accounting Officer will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks crucial to the success of our business, including invoicing and collecting accounts receivable, performing weekly and monthly reconciliation of assigned accounts.

The Senior Accounting Officer will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks crucial to the success of our business, including invoicing and collecting accounts receivable, performing weekly and monthly reconciliation of assigned accounts.  The incumbent will help identify areas for streamlining processes and achieving greater efficiencies that are consistent with accounting standards, Company policies and procedures.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for assigned portfolios.
  • Reconcile daily sales for assigned Company Operated locations.
  • Contribute to the timely and accurate month-end closing reporting to Management.
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal parties to support intercompany activities.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external parties like external auditors, banks, local tax, and government authorities where required.
  • Assist in new processes and system implementation when required.
  • To update supporting schedules and reconcile balances to general ledger on monthly basis. 
  • Monitor and prepare weekly receivables report to Management for assigned portfolios.
  • Prepare requisite journals on a timely basis to record company transactions.
  • Operates using the in-house accounting software.
  • Prepare and maintain requisite audit schedules as assigned.
  • Provide support to the payables function as required.
  • Prepare and maintain accounting records towards achieving an organized filing system.
  • Creates, stores, and maintains records of communications to external parties such as suppliers and internal parties such as departments or business units.
  • Performs other functions assigned from time to time based on job requirements.

  • Good numerical and analytical skills
  • Must be computer literate & proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & Word) & QuickBooks
  • Sound knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
  • A self-starter who can plan and take initiative to meet job objectives and deadlines independently.

    Education 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or; 
    • Pursuing ACCA/CPA minimum Level 2

     

    Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years accounting experience in a similar role.
    • Experience within the Oil and Gas Industry would be a plus.
