The primary responsibility of the Risk and Compliance Officer will be to assist in the management and execution of the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management framework and regulatory compliance system.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the maintenance and use of the Risk Management framework. This includes following the procedures and guidelines which promote Risk principles and practices, Risk metrics, Risk Management tools and templates, risk registers, in line with the organisation’s risk appetite
Identifies potential threats and vulnerabilities for business processes, associated data and supporting capabilities to assist in the evaluation of enterprise risk.
Conduct credit and financial assessment of the existing approved financial institutions (AFIs) and microfinance institutions (MFI)s with the bank’s lending portfolio on an annual and quarterly basis
Conduct credit and financial assessment of new approved financial institutions (AFIs) and microfinance institutions (MFI)s for accreditation and recommendation to the Board
Maintain, and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance Program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. Assist in manage day-to-day operation of the Program.
Assist in the management of the bank’s compliance programme to ensure that the bank does not breach applicable laws and regulations relating to its operations
Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future
Prepare monthly divisional reports on the various risk exposures and compliance framework activities.
The required minimum qualifications, experiences, and attributes are:
Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or related qualification.
Training in Risk Management
Knowledge of GoJ’s FAA Act and Public Bodies Management & Accountability Act; would be an asset
Strong quantitative and data analytic skills
Sound understanding of Enterprise Risk Management Frameworks and tools
Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel and Access
Ability to interpret technical journals, financial reports, legal documents, laws and regulations
Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and must be confidential and diplomatic
3 years relevant work experience in Risk Management, Compliance and/or Audit
