The Opportunity- Restaurant/Room Service Operator

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, skilled and highly motivated individual join our Food & Beverage Team.  The Restaurant/Room Service Operator will work as part of the Restaurant & Room Service team at the Crane to coordinate all guest requests for special arrangements or services courteously and efficiently.

Applications open to Barbadian nationals, persons with permission to reside and work in Barbados, or persons eligible to reside and work with a CARICOM Skills certificate.

Summary of Main Duties:

• Maintains complete knowledge of all menu and drink prices in assigned outlets.
• Maintains complete knowledge of POS and manual systems and procedures.
• Receives daily float ensuring the correct amount is received at the beginning of every shift and counts at the end of every shift ensuring the correct amount is submitted.
• Ensures the company revenue is kept secured at all times.
• Assists the kitchen brigade by inputting market list into the inventory system.
• Enquires with the Head Chef to ensure stock from the market list is received and makes notations of items not received for follow up
• Ensures that all traces, special requests (such as birthday, anniversary etc) platters received from Concierge, Reservations or any other department relating to room service and kitchen are transferred to the relevant personnel for service delivery.
• Be familiar with daily house count, expected outlet business, menu items, and specials.
• Answers outlet telephone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette as guided by the AAA international standards.
• Receives and enters restaurant and room service orders into the system, distributing these orders to the servers and receives the correct amount of monies for each order and in cases where the system is down, effectively write orders in invoice book provided in accordance with Accounting procedures and policies.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• At least one-year experience in a similar role
• The foresight to anticipate, identify, and solve any problems or information in need of consideration and adjustment.
• Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time.
• Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and evenings as scheduled.
• The ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
• Excellent health.
• The ability to understand and focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.
