The Nursing Council of Trinidad and Tobago seeks an experienced and dynamic Registrar to serve as the Secretary of the Council and manage key regulatory and administrative functions.
CONTRACT POSITION: THE REGISTRAR
The person in this position functions under the direction of the Nursing Council of Trinidad and Tobago with a high level of independence in a quasi-legal regulatory environment.
The Registrar shall be the Secretary of the Council and on behalf of the Council and as directed through the President of the Council, be responsible for activities pertaining to the admission, registration and examinations of all nursing personnel in accordance with and further delineated by the Nursing Personnel Act, Chapter 29:53.
Key Functions:
- Implement and coordinate plans from the Board and other functional Committees, while managing daily operations.
- Establish and maintain Registers, Rolls, and Records of individuals with Nursing and Midwifery Qualifications.
- Provide general management for The Council as directed by The Board.
- Offer quality improvement and performance management advice and execute decisions made.
- Support and advance the strategic plans and agendas of the Board and Committees.
- Participate in monthly Board meetings and provide minute-taking services.
- Sign relevant licenses and permits for Nursing and Midwifery practice or training.
- Prepare for the execution of The Council’s Registration or Licensing examinations.
Minimum Requirements
- A BSc or Certificate in Nursing (Midwifery registration will be an asset).
- A Master’s Degree in Health Administration, Health Management, Nursing Administration or Nursing Education.
- Must possess registration with the Nursing Council of Trinidad and Tobago.
- At least seven to ten (7-10) years in a senior or middle management position.
- Knowledge and/or certification in Business Communications and Preparation of Minute will be an asset.
