The Reconciliation Officer is responsible for reconciling financial and operational data across all aspects of the bakery, including accounts, warehouse inventory, and production.

JOB PURPOSE

The Reconciliation Officer is responsible for reconciling financial and operational data across all aspects of the bakery, including accounts, warehouse inventory, and production. This role ensures accuracy, identifies discrepancies, and supports efficient business operations through robust internal controls.

 

KEY OUTPUTS 

  • Accurate reconciliation of all financial transactions and operational records.
  • Timely identification and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Strengthened internal controls across finance, inventory, and production processes.
  • Improved efficiency and transparency in financial and operational reporting.
  • Compliance with regulatory and company policies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform reconciliations for various accounts, including cash, bank, receivables, and payables.
  • Conduct regular inventory reconciliations for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Reconcile production data to ensure alignment between raw material usage and finished product output.
  • Investigate variances and discrepancies in financial and operational data, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records, verifying transactions against supporting documents.
  • Monitor and track waste management processes, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of waste levels.
  • Assist in the implementation and improvement of reconciliation policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
  • Maintain documentation of all reconciliation activities for audit and review purposes.
  • Prepare periodic reconciliation reports for management review and decision-making.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during financial audits.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reconciliation accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform ad-hoc reconciliation tasks as required by management.

  • Knowledge of reconciliation best practices and internal controls.
  • Understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
  • Experience in inventory and production reconciliation processes.

 

 Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in reconciliation, accounting, or financial auditing.
  • Experience in the baking or food manufacturing industry is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and production processes.
