POSITION: QUALITY MANAGER

Job Sumary

 To build a vibrant Food Safety and Quality culture that ensures that all products consistently meet manufacture andfood safety standards, and customer requirements.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish effective Quality Control and Assurance procedures to inspect, test and evaluate  manufactured and non-manufactured finished products, incoming raw materials and production testing equipment.
  • Ensure that the Quality lab equipment is maintained and Quality team is developed and trained to support the Quality objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality and Food Safety standards, monitoring results and working with relevant stakeholders to address non conformances.
  • Oversee activities related to new product development including but not limited to new ingredient testing, packaging trials, transit trials, first run monitoring and providing feedback or information for production and marketing to ensure that new products are launched as planned.
  • Review and make recommendations for improving product formulae to reduce cost, increase efficiency or improve quality.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of programmes by inspections, supervision or audits of Food Safety programmes including but not limited to HACCP, sanitation, allergen management and pest control .
  • Audit and ensure the effectiveness of the Quality Management System and compliance to applicable standard as agreed by the Company .
  • Monitor, analyze and generate reports to track Quality performance .
  • Participate in the development of the company’s annual business plan and operating budget and the subsequent management thereof.
  • Coordinate, develop, implement and follow up on agreed action plans with the Production Teams to eliminate customer complaints, reduce scrap and improve manufacturing process.
  • Develop teams to create ownership and accountability for Quality and Food Safety throughout the organization.

General Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Engineering
  • At least three (3) years working experience in a similar role, two of which should have been at a management level.

  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Food Safety and Quality Management Systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
