Quality Inspector E & I - Trinidad

The Quality Inspector supports field execution through implementation of the quality assurance and quality control program by ensuring quality issues/problems within Construction/Engineering/Commissioning are identified, reported and rectified.

Plans, coordinates and reports on the execution of QAQC plans within Inspection activities/findings for the Construction/Engineering Department.

Inspect, supervise and attest key hold ITP’s points along with Subcontractors quality personnel on the field.

Coordinate with Subcontractors quality on the implementation of Subcontractors Quality Programs.

Ensures Massy Wood's Quality Management system is understood and implemented. Engage in the continual improvement of Massy Wood's processes, procedures, and quality culture.

• Document and report in a timely manner any changes encountered in the field to the IFC deliverables.
• Anticipate document, report and resolve Quality problems encountered in the field to eliminate costly rework or re-testing.
• Validates the revision of procedures, Process Plans and Work / Operations Procedures for the overall Construction activity. Liaises with the Construction/Engineering Department where necessary.
• Identifies and evaluates Quality-related incidents / problems / non-conformances and initiates, recommends, and provides effective solutions where necessary.
• Responsible for the initiation, collection, disposition and retention of QA/QC records in a timely manner in accordance with documented procedures.
• Manages relationships with Sub-contracted companies to ensure compliance between subcontracted services and Client best practices.
• Liaises with HSSE representatives (internal, client & external) to ensure inherent compliance of documentation with MWG and Client safety standards.
• Liaises with MWG Quality Lead, Construction Superintendent, Construction Coordinators, Field Supervisors and SPAs as work progresses and provide activity updates in the form of a QA/QC Daily Report covering all assigned Projects.
• Performs surveillances at critical phases through project execution.
• Performs site inspections at subcontractor workshops which include but not limited to Instrument Calibration, Control Valve testing, Electrical devices testing & Material inspections.
• Review all inspection and testing reports for compliance, with reference to applicable industry codes and site standards/procedures.
• Liaises with the site subcontractors’ QC inspectors for the resolution of site problems.
• Review of sub-contractor procedures and quality documentation such as ITP’s, Installation and testing procedures.
• Review and revise Massy Wood E&I ITPs and Quality Procedures to be in alignment with Client Requirements and specification.
• Review of E&I inspection and calibration records including but not limited to Control valves, Electrical Instrumentations, Analog measurement Instrumentation, Telecommunication devices, for compliance with Project specification and acceptance Criteria.
• Review of Cable testing records for compliance to project specification acceptance criteria.
• Review of Electrical Equipment inspection and test records including but not limited to Switchgear, Circuit breakers, Electrical Relays for compliance with Project specification and acceptance Criteria.
• Lead and deliver quality talks/presentations in daily site Toolbox meetings.
• Active participation in Quality improvements drives.
• Maintaining a log of items that require corrective actions and reporting such to site construction Team in a timely manner.
• Punch listing of items and communication of such to the site construction leads.
• Completion of GO Completion ITR’s.
• Material Receipt compliance inspection.
• E&I Load Out Bag & Tag verification.
• Ensure the client is satisfied before, during and after work is completed.
• Performs other related job functions as required per your experience, Training and Competency

• Diploma Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized institution or any combination of certifications equivalent to a Diploma
• A minimum of 5 years Oil and Gas experience in the role of a QA/QC inspector responsible for site installation, inspections, ITR management and dossier management
• Certification/Training in Quality (must be based on ISO 9001:2015) from a recognized institution. (For example, CQE, CQA, CQT or CQI)
• A working knowledge of Electrical Installation and Inspection codes and practices such as NETA ATS, NEC including 500 & 505, NEMA 250, NEMA VE 1, NEMA VE 2, NFPA 70 and UL 1581 and other E&I recognized industry standards.
• Shall demonstrate a working and thorough knowledge of Ex installation, Area Classification and installation methods.
• Shall demonstrate a working and thorough knowledge of Instrument installation and calibration, its applications and recognized industry standards.
• Shall demonstrate a working and thorough knowledge of Getronics installation and Testing Methods, acceptance criteria and recognized industry standards.
• Shall demonstrate a working and thorough knowledge of Low Voltage installation and Testing Methods, acceptance criteria and recognized industry standards.
• Shall demonstrate a working and thorough knowledge of Medium Voltage installation and Testing Methods, acceptance criteria and recognized industry standards.
• Shall demonstrate a working and thorough knowledge of High Voltage installation and Testing Methods, acceptance criteria and recognized industry standards.
• As a minimum, shall have experience with: Instrument Installation of equipment such as Pressure, Temperature, Level & Flow Transmitters and Indicators, Fire and Gas devices, Vesda smoke detection, Fusible loop system for fire suppression, Packaged Equipment in plant construction…. etc.
• As a minimum, shall have experience with: Electrical Installation of equipment such as, Pumps, Motors, Skids, Valves, Vessels, Compressors, Fired Heaters, Auxiliary Equipment, Packaged Equipment in plant construction…. etc.
