The incumbent is expected to assist with compiling information, updating Inventory records for Bryden pi and its affiliated companies.

Bryden pi Ltd, one of the leading channel-focused distributors of Consumer, Health and Personal Care products in Trinidad and Tobago is on the lookout for the ideal candidate to join our unique family in the position of PURCHASING AND INVENTORY ASSISTANT within our Finance Division

Some Main Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare costing of inventory for approval
  • Receipt of inventory (foreign & local) for both non WMS  and WMS location
  • Update A/P, landing charges and hand written cheques
  • Execute stock adjustment for damages & short shipments
  • Prepare claims and follow up with suppliers
  • Maintain proper communication and assistance with Account team on claims and any other queries
  • Reconcile GL account
  • Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve shortages and other problems.
  • Maintain purchasing files and reports.
  • Set up and update Inter-warehouse transfers
  • Enter final figures for stock check
  • Enter PO on VAI & receive stock on VAI
  • Ensure checklist is completed accurately and in timely manner
  • Maintain all confidential information except when disclosure is authorized including among other things, any non-public information concerning the Company, including its subsidiaries, business structure, financial performance, product specifications, and processes, results or prospects, customer lists, price lists, pricing strategies, sales and promotions techniques, training materials and any non-public information.
  • Liaise with Stock Auditor and Warehouse Personnel about inventory issues
  • Ensure that approved costings, purchase orders, invoices are sent to warehouse one (1) day before shipment arrives at warehouse
  • Perform other duties that may be required to enhance the operations of the Company

Qualification, Experience and Requirement:

  • A’level passes including Math and English
  • Experience in Purchasing / Costing / Logistics is an asset.
  • A minimum of one (1) years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in a demanding fast pace environment will be an asset
  • Or relevant combination of training and experience
  • A valid Police Certificate of Good Character

Key Competencies:

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsft Office Suite
  • Good analytical skills
  • Must be able to multi-task and work under minimum supervision in a demanding environment
