Our Client in the Port of Spain area is seeking to permanently onboard an Accounting Assistant
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with managing accounts payable, ensuring invoices and
payments are processed accurately and on time.
• Support the management of accounts receivable, ensuring invoices
and receipts are processed promptly and correctly.
• Reconcile AP and AR subledger balances with general ledger
accounts.
• Prepare and reconcile group confirmations for monthly reporting.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records and
contribute to the preparation of monthly financial reports.
• Process wire transfers, ACH, and other online transactions daily.
• Prepare and post journal entries on a daily basis.
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank and general ledger
reconciliations, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial
data.
• Accurately input financial data into accounting software and maintain
organized, up-to-date records.
• Assist in the completion of weekly and quarterly Central Bank
reports.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Assist with the investigation of customer and agent payment queries
• Any other assigned duties
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
• ACCA Level 2 or equivalent professional designation from an
accredited institution.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and accounting systems
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant working experience
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Accpac),
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
