Purchasing Officer

SUMMARY: 

The Purchasing Officer key responsibilities include the monitoring and ordering of inventories with respect to the matintaince of adequate stock levels, facilitating the smooth transfer of documentation for shipment of goods between the Suppliers, Customs andthe Warehouse.

 KEY DUTIES  RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of Purchase Order for all divisions.
  • Follow-up with suppliers regarding order acknowledgement and shipment documentation as required
  • Preparation of purchasing projections for the assigned suppliers within the department’s KPI
  • Follow-up regarding the inbound logistics of all shipments for the company 
  • Assist in coordinating the activities for clearance of shipments
  • Ensure that all necessary permits (Ministry of Agriculture and JACRA) are in place for shipments  based on purchase orders sent to suppliers 
  • Timely clearance of all shipments from the different ports of loading  
  • File purchase orders in their respective folders
  • File purchase order update registers in their respective folders
  • Updating of the container tracking software and distributing of daily reports
  • Continually develop expertise to support growth for new products


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:     

  • Bachelors’ degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a procurement environment

  • Effective time management  and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly developed organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office
  • Detail oriented, pays keen attention to accuracy
  • Ability to apply critical thinking
