The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement process of goods and services, ensuring the organization secures quality products at competitive prices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement Strategy:
    • Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies in alignment with company objectives.
    • Monitor market trends, supplier offerings, and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
  2. Supplier Management:
    • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
    • Conduct supplier performance evaluations regularly.
  3. Order Management:
    • Oversee the preparation and processing of purchase orders and requisitions.
    • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet operational needs.
    • Address and resolve any issues related to delays, defective goods, or discrepancies in deliveries.
  4. Budget and Cost Control:
    • Monitor and manage purchasing budgets to achieve cost savings and efficiency.
    • Analyse purchasing data and prepare reports on spending patterns and savings achieved.
  5. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
    • Mitigate risks by maintaining supplier contracts and agreements.
  6. Team Management:
    • Supervise and guide purchasing staff to achieve departmental goals.
    • Conduct training and performance reviews to enhance team capabilities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  1. Experience:
    • Minimum 6-10 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing roles, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
  2. Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
    • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Effective communication and leadership skills.
