Programme Officer - SCHSBM
Job Overview
The Programme Officer is expected to provide support to the various programmes across the portfolio of the SCHSBM as assigned. Moreover, the Programme Officer is responsible for aspects of the operational and logistical preparation and course delivery, advising and supporting faculty on course materials, procedures, assessment and planning; managing assessments, making processes, and working closely with external stakeholders and partners to develop programme proposals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assists with the delivery, evaluation and monitoring of various programme activities across the School’s educational, professional development and open enrollment portfolio.
• Acts as a point of contact and communication conduit with validating and accreditation organisations as required.
• Oversees the implementation of new programmes, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to timelines.
• Estimates cost and forecasts resources requirements for programme activities and projects.
• Assists with the preparation of budgets related to the development, implementation and execution of the School’s educational, professional development and open enrollment portfolio.
• Monitors programme expenditures ensuring adherence to budgetary limits and identifies any potential variances.
• Coordinates and manages travel logistics and liaises with international and regional stakeholders during travel.
• Ensures all supporting documentation and necessary resources are available for successful implementation of programmes on-site and during regional and international travel.
• Updates and revises short courses and programmes by incorporating new information and technology.
• Conducts market research and analyses industry trends to identify gaps and opportunities for new short courses, and programmes, and undergraduate and graduate courses and programmes.
• Provides inputs for publication materials and collect information related to the development of short courses and/or programmes.
• Collaborates with Faculty to design and develop new curricula and course materials.
• Participates in monitoring and evaluation exercises to assess programmes and to report on required action/interventions at the higher level of programme management.
• Develops comprehensive programme plans, including goals, objectives, target audience, and resources.
• Liaises with organisations in relation to the development customised programmes, continuing education and development courses and training programmes.
• Prepares and submits proposals for new programmes, seeking funding and approvals.
• Manages day-to-day correspondence, information sharing and filing ensuring that appropriate follow-up actions are taken regarding development of courses and programmes.
• Drafts and develops contracts for teaching and delivery of courses and maintains copies of such in digital and hard format.
• Collaborates with the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Unit to manage compliance for quality assurance and accreditation requirements.
• Provides guidance in the development, implementation, monitoring and review of quality assurance procedures.

• Knowledge of admissions protocol and transfer standards, requirements, and procedures.
• Knowledge and understanding of electronic data collection and data management systems and procedures.
• Knowledge of programme monitoring and evaluation tools and procedures.
• Knowledge and understanding of curriculum development and programme design.
Experience
• At least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, management, education or a related discipline.
• Certification in curriculum, instruction and assessment or curriculum writing, evaluation and development.
