As a Production supervisor, you will be responsible for the supervision of our manufacturing activities.

 

An established manaufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join our team. As a Production supervisor, you will be responsible for the supervison of our production activities. You will be required to work on a shift basis to include weekends and public holidays. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that all critical control points are compliant and monitored in accordance with the Food Safety/HACCP Plan as well as quality plan
  • Assist with driving compliance with good manufacturing practices, HACCP and all other applicable regulations, policies and procedures
  • Efficient use of time and ensure adequate staff compliment for production
  • Implement and monitor processes aimed at minimizing damages
  • Monitor day-to-day operations to ensure excellent quality products are produced.
  • Maintain product quality audits. 
  • Ensure the meeting of quality expectations by maintaining and managing controls and continual personal inspection of production and process;
  • Supervise and motivate a team of workers. Seek ways to improve the process and quality while reducing costs;
  • Complete weekly production reports for Management meetings;
  • Manage the Production and Packaging processes through personal interaction and communicate clear expectations to all subordinates;
  • Monitor and take corrective measures to improve staff attendance and productivity
  • Assist with the execution of the safety programme

  • Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills;
  • Good analytical skills and experience of planning, reviewing and managing budget costs effectively;

  • Confidentiality and trustworthiness.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Tertiary Education in Operations Management or its equivalent;
  • Strong background in the Production Area of a Manufacturing Organization;
  • Successful track record in food operations;
  • Proven experience as Baker, Pastry Chef and/or relevant role is an asset;
  • In depth knowledge of sanitation principles and baking techniques and nutrition;
  • IT literate - fully conversant in Microsoft Office applications: WORD, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
