Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement and Logistics Consultant with a background in HSE to support and enhance the procurement and supply chain functions within the construction sector. The successful candidate will play a critical role in optimizing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring efficient logistics operations. This position is ideal for a professional with deep expertise in construction materials, equipment procurement, and logistics coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to construction project requirements.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure high-quality materials and services at competitive prices.
Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and operational guidelines.
Oversee the procurement lifecycle for construction materials, equipment, and services, from requisition to delivery.
Ensure timely sourcing and delivery of critical materials to prevent project delays.
Plan and coordinate the transportation of construction materials and equipment to project sites, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.
Manage import and export activities, including customs clearance and regulatory documentation.
Oversee inventory management and warehouse operations, including material tracking, storage, and disposal of surplus materials.
Implement strategies to optimize supply chain processes and reduce logistics costs without compromising quality or timelines.
Develop and maintain procedures for the proper handling and disposal of materials.
Monitor environmental impacts and propose initiatives for continuous improvement.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers.
Evaluate supplier performance, addressing issues related to quality, delivery timelines, and service levels.
Act as the primary liaison between suppliers, project teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on procurement and logistics requirements.
Ensure compliance with construction regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of procurement and logistics activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and shipment documentation.
Provide regular reports on procurement and logistics performance, highlighting risks, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in procurement and logistics within the construction sector.
Knowledge of international procurement practices, customs regulations, and construction industry standards.
Proficiency in procurement and logistics software, as well as MS Office Suite.
