As the Procurement Manager for our airline, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing relationships with suppliers to ensure the uninterrupted flow of both technical and non-technical goods and services critical to our operations.

Technical Procurement: Aircraft Components and Parts:
The responsibility includes sourcing and negotiating procurement contracts for aircraft components, parts, and systems. Additionally, it requires collaboration with technical teams to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for aviation components, ensuring quality and reliability for the airline’s operations.

Aviation Equipment:
This role involves managing the procurement of ground support equipment, avionics, and specialized tools. It also requires ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and industry standards in all technical procurements, maintaining the highest level of safety and functionality in all aviation-related equipment.

Maintenance and Repair Services:
The procurement manager is responsible for negotiating contracts for maintenance and repair services for aircraft and associated systems. This includes developing and maintaining strong relationships with approved maintenance providers to ensure timely and efficient services that meet operational needs.

Technology and IT Equipment:
Collaboration with the IT department is crucial to ensure alignment with technology requirements. This responsibility includes procuring and managing technology-related equipment for the airline’s operations, ensuring the availability of cutting-edge tools and systems that support daily business activities.

Non-Technical Procurement: Office Supplies and Services:
The role includes sourcing and managing contracts for office supplies, stationery, and office equipment. Additionally, it involves overseeing service contracts for office cleaning, security, and other facility-related services to ensure that the corporate environment operates smoothly and efficiently.

Corporate Services:
This responsibility entails procuring services related to corporate events, travel, and employee benefits. The procurement manager is also tasked with negotiating contracts with service providers for catering, transportation, and accommodation, ensuring that all services meet company standards and budget constraints.

Logistics and Transportation:
Managing contracts for transportation and logistics services is key to ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. The procurement manager coordinates with logistics providers to optimize supply chain management, improving operational efficiency and reducing overall transportation costs.

Contract Negotiation:
A core function of this role is negotiating terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers to achieve optimal agreements. It also involves ensuring that all contracts comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards, securing favorable terms that benefit the organization.

Supplier Relationship Management:
The procurement manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers. This involves conducting regular performance reviews and implementing improvement plans as needed to ensure that suppliers consistently meet the company’s expectations in terms of quality, delivery, and service.

Budget Management:
The procurement manager develops and manages procurement budgets, ensuring that all purchases align with the financial targets of the organization. This also includes monitoring expenditures and implementing cost-saving initiatives to enhance the financial efficiency of the procurement process.

Risk Management:
Identifying and mitigating procurement-related risks is an essential aspect of the role. The procurement manager ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while proactively addressing potential risks to minimize disruptions in the supply chain and operations.

Policy Compliance:
The procurement manager is responsible for developing and enforcing procurement policies and procedures. This includes ensuring adherence to ethical standards and promoting transparency in procurement practices, upholding the company’s integrity and reputation in all procurement activities.

Required Core Competencies, Experience, and Qualifications:
• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations and technical specifications.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
• Excellent analytical and time management skills 
• A minimum of five (5) years’ proven experience in procurement, preferably in the aviation industry 
• Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's in a related field is a plus).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management - CPSM) are advantageous.
• Commitment to continued learning and personal development.
