Job Overview: The Procurement Manager oversees sourcing and acquiring goods and services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness for NFM. They strategize, coordinate, and manage purchasing while ensuring quality control and compliance with OPR and NFM policies.

Job Overview:

The Procurement Manager plays a pivotal role in the sourcing and acquisition of goods and services for a company. This position will ensure that the procurement department meet the standards of quality, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness that NFM requires. As a key figure, the Procurement Manager strategizes, coordinates, and manages the purchasing decisions that align with the organization's operational needs. Our Procurement Manager will ensure quality control and adherence to the OPR and NFM’s policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with the company’s objectives.
  • Managing supplier relationships to ensure compliance with contracts and resolution of issues.
  • Conducting and analysing market research to identify potential vendors.
  • Negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure the best possible prices and agreements.
  • Overseeing the procurement process from the initiation of a purchase request to the final receipt and approval of goods.
  • Coordinating with internal departments to forecast needs and specifications.
  • Managing the procurement budget and preparing cost analyses and reports.
  • Leading the S&OP and MRP Processes with a sound knowledge of Demand Planning
  • Communicating with senior management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production.
  • Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages.
  • Management of the purchasing team and delegating tasks across departments when necessary.
  • Read and comprehend legal documents, such as contracts or import/export agreements, while collaborating closely with the company’s legal department to ensure contracts and terms are favourable.
  • Maintains working knowledge of end-to-end supply chain components including forecasting, inventory management, promotional planning, department management, master data management, item lifecycle, seasonal planning, supplier planning and order fulfilment.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the industry's market trends and developments.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration.
  • Professional certifications such as the Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) or CIPS Level 4/5.
  • Relevant experience in a procurement or purchasing environment, typically 5+ years, with progressive responsibility.
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, budgets, and negotiation terms.
  • Extensive experience in MRP Management

 

Skills:

  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Dynamic D365 software will be an asset
  • Management and leadership skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
