GCG Group Jamaica is a member of the GCG Group which operates in 21 countries across the US, Caribbean, Central and South America. We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual to join the team in the capacity of Procurement Coordinator at our Montego Bay location.
The Procurement Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing the procurement processes of our company. This includes sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Assist the Procurement Manager with all stages of the procurement process and work cross-functionally with all internal and external teams.
- Manage weekly supplier communication channels to stay on top of all outstanding orders.
- Prepare and draft purchase orders and upload corresponding shipment data into our tools.
- Develop and implement new procurement and sourcing strategies, aligning with industry news and best practices.
- Work cross-functionally with our internal teams to manage inventory and ensure orders are placed on time to support forecasted demand, within defined budget, maintain healthy inventory levels, and support growth.
- Oversee the timely management and execution of orders, ensuring that status updates and order deliveries are communicated to the appropriate point of contact.
- Support with the development of strategies to select the best products for the operation.
- Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management.
- Using computer systems to maintain property records concerning quantity, cost, and type of material received or shipped.
ACADEMIC & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in operations management, supply chain management, accounting or related field.
- 2+ years’ of proven experience in a similar capacity.
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus
- Proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within your team.
- Strong budget development and oversight skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
