The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing business growth efforts on behalf of the company. Their duties include conducting market research and coordinating with company leadership for maintaining beneficial relationships with clients, suppliers and other business partners.

JOB PURPOSE

1.     Manage the categories locally: negotiation with suppliers, purchase, manage inventories, merchandising and promotions.

2.     Maximize sales potential and margin.

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree – ideally with Business qualification.
  • More than 3 years of experience in similar role.
  • Previous experience in the airport background will be appreciated.
  • Experience managing multi category business (Liquor, Alcohol, Perfumes, Confectionary, Jewellery, Sunglasses, Electronics, etc.)
  • IT literate.
  • Commercial and numerate.
  • Good presentation and communication skills – written and verbal
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Professional and pragmatic.
  • Team player.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.    Provide support to implement commercial actions planned with Global Commercial teams.

2.    Provide feedback through monthly reports including updates, initiatives and forecasts, which will contribute to the growth of the Company.

3.    Implement all commercial initiatives requested by the global commercial and marketing team.

4.    Negotiating with Local Suppliers: Secure the best terms and conditions to ensure a competitive edge in the market.

5.    Preparing and Implementing Commercial Plans: Develop comprehensive strategies to achieve business objectives.

6.    Assortment Management & Master Data: Ensure that each store maintains the appropriate assortment and parameters.

7.    Targets: Reach established targets for margin, sales, and stock levels, ensuring optimal performance.

8.    Marketing and Engagement: Implement marketing campaigns and entertainment initiatives to drive customer engagement and brand loyalty.

9.    Leading Digital Programs: Enhance customer experience through the Reserve and Collect service and Club Avolta.

10. Stock Management: Maintain optimal stock levels to meet customer demand and minimize excess inventory.
