Position Scope:

 

The Processing Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the Processing Department to achieve productivity and clear floor targets, ensuring mail is processed to service standards and within budget.

 

Key Duties And Responsibilities:

 

  •            Manages the day-to-day operations of the Processing Department

  •          Ensures that mail is processed to service standards and within budget

  • Ensures the achievement and maintenance of consistent clear floor in the mailroom in  accordance with quality standards

  • Ensures zero transit time failure in Processing

  • Ensures revenue protection policies and procedures are followed

  • Optimizes operations in the Processing Department to continuously improve work flow and reduce waste and cost

  • Ensures high standards of housekeeping are maintained in the processing area

  • Directs, supports and motivates employees, recommending training and initiating intervention as required

  • Establishes and sets employee performance standards then monitors and reviews  performance, taking corrective action as necessary including disciplinary action

  • Follows HR policies and practices, and in particular good industrial relations practices, compliant with the collective bargaining process

  • Implements and maintains control for documented policies and procedures

  • Identifies relevant quality related training needs and works with the HR Division to execute same

  • Gathers data and produces statistical reports on employee and department performance

  • Ensures compliance with national and international standards and legislation for quality assurance in the Processing Department

  • Monitors and ensures adherence to health and safety rules, regulations and guidelines

  • Performs other related duties that may be required by the job function

     

    Education:

     

  •  Bachelor of Science degree in Management/Operations/Logistics or a related field

     

    Experience:

     

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Middle to Senior Management level in Operations/Logistics
  • Significant experience in developing and implementing strategies to increase efficiency, maintain quality and ensure continuous improvement
  • Strong business acumen and ability to prepare strategic plans
