Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Insurance Operation Services - Business Development & Policy Services team in the capacity of:

Pre-Underwriting Associate

Process and settle coupon, ordinary life applications, individual health applications as well as process contractual changes, reopening of files and purging of stale-dated medicals.

Location: Kingston

As a Pre-Underwriting Associate, you will:

• Process coupon and ordinary life applications, settle coupon and ordinary life applications, individual health applications, contractual changes and reopen files.
• Maintain and follow-up pending files.
• Update shared drive report on a daily basis and prepare productivity reports on an ongoing basis in accordance with the stipulated guidelines.
• Purge stale-dated medicals/ lab reports.
• Test changes and modifications to the computer systems employed by Sagicor Life of Jamaica and Sagicor Life of the Cayman Islands.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• Minimum of an Associate degree in Business Administration or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Completion of the LOMA Parts 1 & 2 designation would be an asset.
• At least two (2) years’ working experience in a life insurance company or related entity.
• Sound knowledge of life insurance operations.
• Sound knowledge of computer software packages including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Good time management and human relations skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Basic understanding of marketing concepts.
