Portfolio Officer

Under the general direction of the Chief Investment Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining client portfolios. S/He will develop and research new investment ideas for clients, perform continuing due diligence on existing investments etc.

Cumax Wealth Management Limited (a subsidiary of the Jamaica Co-Operative Credit Union League Limited), is seeking to recruit an experienced Portfolio Officer who can add a unique perspective to our team. 

The Role: 

Under the general direction of the Chief Investment Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining client portfolios.  S/He will develop and research new investment ideas for clients, perform continuing due diligence on existing investments and prepare reports for the relevant committees. Duties include but are not limited to the following: 

• Meet with Team Members to review and monitor client portfolios and investment guidelines
• Independently monitor and suggest changes to client portfolios
• Generate investment guidelines specific to client risk tolerances and goals
• Champion the firm’s portfolio investment models
• Utilize Bloomberg, and other research software to screen for new investment ideas and maintain due diligence on existing holdings
• Prepare reports on managed portfolios for the relevant Committees and provide  monthly reports to manage portfolio clients
• Manage research projects assigned and complete Special Projects as needed
• Provide relief for the Trader 

Preferred Profile:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field from an accredited institution
• Licenced by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) and the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE)
• Three years of portfolio management experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
• Experience with High Net Worth and  Managed Portfolio clients and appropriate investment Strategies
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Client-first attitude, professional demeanour, personal integrity and an understanding of fiduciary responsibility
• Exposure to Collective Investment Schemes (CIS) Fund and Private Equity investments
• Self‐motivated, confident, detail‐oriented, and analytical
• Demonstrated knowledge of various securities markets
• Familiarity with Bloomberg is a distinct advantage
