As a Pool and Beach Supervisor for The Palms Resort, you will be responsible for supervising the Pool and Beach department staff and ensuring that staff adheres to company’s policy and procedures.

Role and Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, coordinate, assign and evaluate the work of assigned staff.
• Monitor staff performance and hold staff accountable when performance and/or service requirements are not met.
• Ensure that staff is well trained and knowledgeable by providing guidance, coaching and training to contribute to the continuous development of each staff.
• Ensure that staff complete all duties and responsibilities in a safe and timely manner.
• Supervise and assist staff with setting up, maintaining and breaking down the pool/beach chairs, umbrellas, cushions, floaters, non-motorized sports equipment and supply of guest amenities according to departmental standards.
• Help to create and maintain a safe, fair and productive working environment for all staff.
• Monitor and ensure that staff greet all guest in a timely and courteous manner, offering a warm welcome, assisting with seating and offering towels and water.
• Monitor, assist and ensure that continuous guest service is being delivered throughout the day according to resort standards and maintaining positive guest interactions and experiences.
• Use guest knowledge to ensure a high level of guest recognition and personalized service.
• Enforce pool, beach and watersports rules to ensure safety and satisfaction.
• Follow up on guest/staff complaints, concerns or inquiries.
• Communicate with managers daily, giving updates of any incidents, complaints or compliments.
• Ensure that all facilities and equipments are in impeccable condition and maintained throughout each day.
• Ensure that upon closure that staff leave work areas clean and tidy.
• Any other ad hoc duties or tasks as assigned or directed by management.

Key Skills and Requirements

•  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
•  Excellent attention to detail.
•  Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
•  Must possess high hospitality skills
•  Must be able to perform all duties within P&B
•  Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
•  Must be able to perform multiple duties.
•  First-Aid and CPR certification
•  Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Physical Requirments

•  Must be an able-bodied swimmer
•  Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 5 hours in length.
•  Must be able to work in hot and humid weather conditions.
•  Must be able to lift 75 pounds or more.
•  Must be able to push carts weighing 250 pounds or more.
•  Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
•  Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
•  Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
•  Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
