Senior Corporate Director, Landscaping

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the landscaping operations across all properties within the resort group. This role involves strategic planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of all landscape elements to ensure that the resorts' outdoor environments are aesthetically pleasing, sustainable, and aligned with the brand’s luxury standards. The Sr. Corporate Director, Landscaping, will lead a team of landscape professionals and work closely with corporate and resort management teams, the technical services team, and external contractors to deliver exceptional outdoor spaces that enhance the guest experience.

Specific Requirements/Duties of the Position Include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive landscaping strategy that aligns with the resort group’s overall vision and brand standards.
  • Creating and maintaining landscape master plans for each resort property, ensuring consistency in design and quality across all locations.
  • Leading the conceptualization and design of new landscape projects, including gardens, water features, pathways, and outdoor recreational areas.
  • Integrating sustainable landscaping practices into all aspects of design and maintenance, including water conservation, native plant selection, and eco-friendly materials.
  • Developing and implementing initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of landscaping operations, such as composting, organic fertilizers, and integrated pest management.
  • Preparing and managing the landscaping department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Overseeing the procurement of plants, materials, and equipment; negotiating contracts with suppliers to ensure best value for the resort group.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day landscaping operations across all resort properties, ensuring that all outdoor spaces are impeccably maintained and meet the resort’s luxury standards.
  • Implementing and enforcing quality control procedures to ensure the health and appearance of plants, trees, and lawns.
  • Developing and managing schedules for routine maintenance, seasonal planting, and special projects.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of landscape managers, horticulturists, gardeners, and groundskeepers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Promoting a safe and inclusive work environment, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Managing relationships with external contractors, landscape architects, and suppliers to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture, horticulture, environmental science, or a related field. Professional certification in landscaping or horticulture is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in landscaping, with at least five years in a senior leadership role, preferably within the hospitality or resort industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop large teams across multiple locations.
  • Advanced knowledge of landscape design principles, horticulture, and environmental sustainability.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale landscaping projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in landscape design software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
