Him/Her is responsible for maintaining the pool, chairs on the pool, and the entire deck area in an efficient and professional manner at all times.

Pool Attendant 

Core Job Functions:

Attendance and active participation are required in the following:

  • Brush and vacuum the Pool every morning and ensure that chemical levels are correct.
  • Record chemical readings daily.
  • Skim Pool continuously during the day. Maintains filters (cartridge and sand) to ensure that the Pool water is filtered at maximum efficiency;
  • Organize the chairs in an orderly manner. Chairs must be cleaned regularly to ensure that mildew does not build up. Any chairs that are damaged must be reported to the Security and Loss Prevention Manager  and removed from the Pool Deck.
  • Sweep the Pool deck every morning, evening and periodically during the day as necessary or instructed. Maintain and clean the Pool deck and railings consistently.
  • Remove all plates and cups on the Pool deck.
  • Maintain Curators safety at all times. Ensure that all safety devices are in place, working and cleaned regularly;
  • Identify and report any observed signs or symptoms of illness or injury of a rescued victim to the Nurse and the Security and Loss Prevention Manager.
  • Clean all equipment daily and store properly after use. Ensure that work area is kept clean and organized at all times.

 Qualification and Experience:

  • Royal Life Saving Society Certificate.
  • First Aid and CPR Training.
  • A minimum one (1) year experience in a similar capacity.
  • Second language is an asset.
  • Clean Police Record.

  Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required:

  • In-depth knowledge of chemical substance.
  • Ability to test and maintain proper PH levels and chlorine levels in the Pool.
  • Knowledge of all the Hotel’s services and amenities.
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to foster harmonious relations.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Strong observational skills.
  • Professionalism and integrity at the highest level.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to multitask.

 Special Conditions associated with the job:

  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Regular bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 20-25 pounds without assistance.
