The Plant Supervisor will oversee all production and maintenance activities, ensure compliance with all required standards, and manage resources to meet all production goals efficiently.

The Plant Supervisor will be accountable for delivering planned production volumes within budget, while meeting all safety, quality, and maintenance requirements according to company standards and policies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Autonomously lead and set the direction for assigned line(s) during daily production to achieve business results.
  • Ensure follow-up actions are completed for daily operations.
  • Oversee Safety, Quality, Maintenance, and Production attainment results.
  • Ensure key routines are in place and implemented.
  • Drive performance through loss elimination and continuous improvement.
  • Initiate timely corrective/preventive actions to maintain accurate and reliable data for legal and business decision-making.
  • Create and submit Production budgets and monitor actual costs against budget and RE.
  • Ensure all postings are done on time for materials usage and finished good transfers.
  • Ensure all documents are accurate and filed for ease of retrievability and traceability.
  • Ensure the plant condition is free from dust, waste, disorder, garbage. Housekeeping and following 5S methodology must be adhered to.
  • Ensure the production plan is followed as approved
  • Drive implementation of corrective actions to address identified non-conformities and preventative measures to mitigate future non-conformities.
  • Ensure maintenance task lists are in place and lead maintenance activities.
  • Ensure stability, predictability, and reliability of operations through effective routine and preventative maintenance.
  • Implement process improvements and support new projects to enhance production efficiency.
  • Review and approve all maintenance plans/schedule and reports.
  • Create and submit Maintenance budget and monitor actual costs against budget and RE.
  • Manage the spare parts inventory levels and ensure there are no overstocking of parts.
  • Ensure the software and tools are in place and used consistently and correctly to achieve the results.
  • Ensure compliance with company and legal standards related to the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Maintain product quality, integrity, and full traceability.
  • Implement routine checks and appropriate follow-up.
  • Drive continuous improvement to eliminate potential quality losses.
  • Implement corrective actions for any quality issues.
  • Educate team members on maintaining quality standards.
  • Create and submit Quality budget and monitor actual costs against budget and RE.
  • Effectively manage and motivate the team to achieve business results.
  • Perform regular coaching to develop capabilities and build team autonomy.
  • Foster a positive work environment through good communication, collaboration, and a positive attitude.
  • Develop and implement training and development plans to enhance team skills and competencies.
  • Define priorities and continuously improve technical and system aspects of the business.
  • Propose and execute strategies through execution plans, training, and people development plans.
  • Empower team members with a zero-loss mindset.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Training in related international manufacturing and/or quality standards. 
  • Experience in Tobacco Industry would be an asset.
  • Supervisory Management Certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing and production, with at least 2 years in management.
  • Experience in equipment modernization, project management, and new product introduction.
  • Proficiency in implementing manufacturing systems (Open +).
  • Demonstrated ability to assimilate technical data.
