A leading pharmaceutical importer/distributor in south Trinidad is seeking to fill the position of Pharmacist.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing compliance with Pharmacy Legislations.  The Pharmacist also manages the process for conducting marketing surveys, researching product information and oversees the duties of support staff in the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Oversees the duties of support staff in the department.

• Ensure compliance of the pharmaceutical process.
• Report to submission meetings and/or any other meeting hosted by the Chemistry, Food and Drug Division (CFDD)/Inspectors as required.
• Liaises with department managers on matters escalated by support staff.
• Review documents prepared by support staff.

1. Analyses customers’ needs in relation to future product lines.

• Provides input in the selection & pricing of new product lines.

1. Manages the pharmacovigilance process

• Code customer product complaints and side effects received.
• Communicate product recalls with relevant internal and external parties.

1. Completes tender documents for the supply of product.

1. Prepares various adhoc reports

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Diploma or BSc Pharmacy and Registration with the Pharmacy Board of Trinidad & Tobago with minimum ten (10) years’ experience as a registered Pharmacist
• Certification in Research Methodology
• Experience conducting Market Surveys
• Experience developing and conducting training
• Exerperience with Drug Registration will be an asset

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

• Strong Supervisory/Managerial skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicated via phone or face-to-face with internal and external customers
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Officer - Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet, Social Media Sites)
• Numeracy, critical thinking and analytical skills
• Attention to detail

• Has no affiliation with a Pharmacy (i.e. does not own or is not part owner of a Pharmacy, does not work as a part time Pharmacist or any other of a similar nature)
