Packaging Operator

The Packaging Operator has responsibility for the efficient and safe use of machines, ensuring that products meet the required specifications and are in support of the company's overall strategy and goals

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate the machine at a steady speed to achieve optimum line efficiency and meet quality specification
• Ensure that machine operates in a safe manner
• Carry out size change over and basic maintenance on machines
• Troubleshoot and correct problems with machine
• Ensure that machine and work environment are clean and orderly
• Operate in accordance with the following International Standards: Occupational Health and Environment, Quality Management Systems and Food Safety respectively
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment
• Report defects, unusual sounds to Shift Supervisor and/or Lead Mechanic
• Complete logs in an accurate and timely manner
• Any other duty as may be assigned within the scope of the job

JOB SPECIFICATION/COMPETENCIES [Minimum]

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Graduate from a recognized technical institution such as National Tool and Engineering Institute or equivalent with at least one years’ experience in Production
• Minimum five (5) CSEC passes including English A, Mathematics/Principles of Accounts with at least one (1) years’ experience in Production
• Good communication skills – written and verbal with the ability to communicate with varying levels of staff
• People-oriented and results-driven with good interpersonal skills
• Possess good analytical, problem-solving, organization and time management skills
• Meticulous, with the ability to function well individually and on a team within a demanding work environment
