The incumbent is required to oversee the Plant's food processing which is mainly conch, lobster and fish.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of the Plant’s operational budget.
  • Plan and forecast processing activities and attend management meetings.
  • Manage and implement daily production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel to tasks; provide weekly daily/production reports.
  • Work with Quality assurance team to ensure quality management systems and processes are implemented and executed daily. Ensure that documentation that supports the Food Safety and Food Quality standards are maintained and traceable.
  • Receive raw material from suppliers/fishermen and ensure the accurate amounts, correct temperate storage and investigate any tampering of products -report to management immediately.
  • Ensure that products are stored in conformity with applicable public health regulations – temperature -18C, where necessary.
  • Ensure that all team members are equipped with PPE equipment whilst on the Plant floor.
  • Report mechanical issues immediately to maintenance.
  • Enable a positive and  safe work culture to eliminate injuries. Maintain compliance with established occupational, health and safety regulations.
  • Document daily processing activities, including GMP, quality management practices and prepare various reports to management.
  • Monitor the cleaning and sanitization of Plant to avoid any food contamination.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

  • BSc Degree in Food Technology/Science or related qualification
  • Food processing and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP),
  • Quality Management and food safety systems – ISO 9001, HACCP.
  • Industrial Food Processing machinery and equipment.
  • Five years Supervisory experience in a food processing environment.
  • Strong awareness of Occupational Health and Safety best practices.
  • Excellent people skills and someone who  thrives in a collaborative environment.
