Operator I Transfilling, ANSA McAL Chemicals

The Operator I - Transfilling performs the necessary duties involved in chlorine transfilling in accordance with the Chlorine Institute Guidelines and the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Job Summary

• Perform the necessary duties involved in chlorine transfilling in accordance with the Chlorine Institute Guidelines and the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Job Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean and recondition (prior to filling) chlorine cylinders /containers/valves on a daily basis in accordance with Chlorine Institute Guidelines.  
• Transfill chlorine into cylinders/containers on a weekly basis in accordance with the Chlorine Institute procedures. 
• Load and unload drums of chlorine cylinders and 1ton containers on trucks and into shipping containers monthly, or as required. 
• Conduct housekeeping as required.
• Assist in connecting and disconnecting of Isotainers as necessary.
• Conduct washing of cylinders and drums as necessary for hydrostatic testing.
• Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate health, safety, security and environmental policies/procedures.
• Perform any other duties as required by the job function.    

Qualifications & Experience

• Basic literacy and numeric skills  
• Valid Forklift license  
• Successful completion of at least three (3) months working experience as a Trainee Operator
• Ability to function as part of a team 
• Ability to communicate effectively 
• Knowledge of chlorine safety practices 
• Physical dexterity
