The Operator I Trainee develops the skills needed for advancement to Plant Operator I by performing various tasks under the guidance of an experienced Plant Operator and the Plant Shift Supervisor, while adhering to ANSA Group policies, safety and security standards in all duties.
Job Summary
- The Operator I Trainee develops the skills needed for advancement to Plant Operator I by performing various tasks under the guidance of an experienced Plant Operator and the Plant Shift Supervisor, while adhering to ANSA Group policies, safety and security standards in all duties.
Job Responsibilities
- Logs and interprets readings from meters, gauges, charts, and instruments.
- Assists in operating and controlling the plant in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safety & Operational Control Limits (SOCLs).
- Inspects process equipment.
- Obtains samples and performs various tests to ensure compliance with plant standards and process requirements.
- Reports process deficiencies to relevant personnel.
- Maintains accurate records of shift operations.
- Responds to chemical emergency alarms wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Inspects, reports defects with, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment in operation to detect and resolve operational deficiencies, supporting continuous operations.
- Batching of chemicals.
- Performs additional duties as required to support the overall operation and meet organizational objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5 ‘O’ levels Mathematics, Chemistry or Physics, English
- Process Plant Operator Diploma
- MET, EET (optional)
- At least one (1) year experience working in a plant environment
