The Business and Employment Centre is seeking to recruit a proactive Operations Manager.

The successful candidate will oversee and coordinate the functions of the warehousing and distribution staff of our client. He or she will ensure the smooth running of the operations to service level agreement standards and proactively and confidently address all business concerns in the best interest of all stakeholders.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures the enforcement of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including safety protocols.
  • Leads and manages the performance of the Team Leads and recognizes, trains, coaches, counsels and takes corrective action/s when needed.
  • Effectively supervises the daily operations of the warehouse and delivery teams through the operational Team Leads.
  • Effectively manages the team leads to ensure effective supervisory coverage of all shifts.
  • Supports the implementation of the client’s requirements.
  • Oversees resource scheduling and management to ensure real time replacement of staff where needed.
  • Conducts routine analyses and plans best strategies to organise and maximise staffing efficiency for the warehouse and distribution teams.
  • Serves as champion for all communication relating to warehousing and distribution between internal and external parties.
  • Acts in the best interest of the Company while maintaining appropriate service levels and client relationships.
  • Investigates/and or ensures the appropriate investigations and reports on damage to products and equipment or other personnel related issues occur, taking timely and necessary corrective action.
  • Liaises with the client’s supervisory and management teams to resolves issues.
  • Ensures the adherence to the Company’s HR policies and guidelines at all times.
  • Provides reports as required by management or the client per required/requested timelines.
  • Performs other job-related duties as may be assigned by Management.


Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc. /BA in Management, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field
  • Minimum 3 year of management experience in distribution/warehouse operation
  • In-depth knowledge of warehousing and distribution operations and processes
  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Highly organized and detail oriented, analytical

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with good conflict resolution skills
  • Highly flexible
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to effectively manage team members

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Office and Warehousing/Loading Bay environment
  • Work related travel to various locations as required
