The Operations Manager, in the beverage industry, will be responsible for managing, training, planning, directing, and controlling all Operations, HSE, Facility, and Fleet Manager resources.
Job Summary:
The Operations Manager, in the beverage industry, will be responsible for managing, training, planning, directing, and controlling all Operations, HSE, Facility, and Fleet Manager resources to ensure efficient management of pickups and deliveries of packages and maintenance of an organization's facilities and vehicles. Supervise Dispatchers, Operations team, Logistics, and Distribution to ensure every package is picked up and delivered within the Service Level Agreements (SLA). The Operations Manager will implement quality management and other regulatory compliance strategies, in line with company policy.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.
- Oversee daily operations, including inventory management, logistics, and supply chain processes to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align operations with sales forecasts for inventory holding.
- Analyze and optimize workflows, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions for enhanced productivity.
- Manage and mentor a team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and goal attainment.
- Manages the overall Operational management and the performance of the operations.
- Monitors performance and productivity measures to maximize Operation excellence, which includes service, quality, and cost control.
- Trains and develops industry best practices and SOPs for operations and customer service team members.
- Evaluate all aspects of employee performance and provide coaching or discipline as needed.
- Prepares, revises, and submits reports, operation budgets, and other documentation, as required.
- Provides Operations staff with guidance and support, to cope with volume growth.
- Performs other duties outside the normal scope of responsibilities that may be required to maximize efficiency, productivity, teamwork, and customer relations and enhance the entire operations of the company.
Health, Safety & Environment:
- Oversee the implementation of HSE programs, policies, and procedures that comply with all local regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential health, safety, and environmental risks.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Monitor and track HSE performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvements to the HSE management system.
- Foster a culture of safety within the organization by promoting employee engagement and participation in safety initiatives.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies and contractors, on HSE matters.
- Stay up to date on the latest HSE regulations and industry best practices, and ensure the HSE program reflects these developments
Fleet Management:
- Develop and implement the fleet management program, including acquisition (purchase or lease), utilization, maintenance (preventive and repairs), and replacement of vehicles and equipment.
- Developing strategies to optimize fleet usage and fuel efficiency.
- Tracking and managing budgets for vehicle purchases, maintenance, fuel, and related expenses.
- Supervising or coordinating with mechanics and service providers for repairs.
- Maintaining records of vehicle registrations, licenses, and insurance.
Facility Management:
- Develop and implement the maintenance and upkeep of company buildings and grounds, including repairs, cleaning, and renovations.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations.
- Developing and implementing plans for preventive maintenance of facilities.
- Managing janitorial and maintenance staff.
- Overseeing the procurement of facility supplies and equipment.
- Budgeting for facility maintenance and operations.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related.
- Certificate OSHA / NEBHOSH/ IOS will be an asset.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in operations management, Logistics environment, or fleet and/or facilities management within the distribution industry or a similar sector.
