JOB TITLE: Office Assistant
Job Summary: Supports the hospitality functions by providing refreshments, arranging meals and catering as well as maintaining offices, kitchens and washrooms in a clean and tidy manner.
Operational/Technical/Professional:
- Takes inventory of groceries/ toiletries, medical supplies, drinking water and other sundry items and prepares requisitions for maintaining adequate stocks for kitchen and washrooms
- Arranges catering and prepares meeting rooms in accordance with customer requirements
- Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of the buildings.
- Assists in cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, meeting rooms, offices and kitchen areas, countertops, floors and appliances.
- Prepares/ receives and serves meals and refreshments at meetings or on other occasions as required
- Maintains a neat and orderly janitor’s room; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
- Assists in examining areas for safety hazards, reports deficiencies to the Facilities Officer,
- Assists Facilities Officer with day-to-day operation of the property in accordance with policies/procedures
- Arranges laundry service for tablecloths, drapes and other items as required and requisitions replacements as necessary
- Ensures cutlery and utensils are kept clean and stored in an orderly manner
- Routinely checks kitchen and meeting room appliances to ensure functionality
- Performs front desk/ Receptionist duties as and when required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Adheres to all HSSE policies and procedures
JOB SPECIFICATION MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Five CXC O’Level passes including Math and English
Experience:
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a custodian/ related position
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to keep areas clean and orderly.
- Excellent Customer Services Skills
- Ability to interact with staff, and visitors while remaining professional, polite, and courteous
- Honesty and Ethics
- Proficient in MS Office
- Excellent Time Management skills
- Good interpersonal and planning skills
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods standing.
• Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
