Network Engineer

As a Network Engineer at SynCon Technologies Ltd., you will play a foundational role in supporting, maintaining, and optimizing our network infrastructure to ensure seamless configuring, connectivity and reliable operations for our clientele.

JOB OBJECTIVE

As a Network Engineer at Syncon Technologies Ltd., you will play a foundational role in supporting, maintaining, and optimizing our network infrastructure to ensure seamless configuring, connectivity and reliable operations for our clientele.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems as determined by the Team Lead
2. Proactively address incidents and fulfil requests as instructed
3. Offer specialized technical knowledge in network-related matters to support network system requirements as determined by the Team Lead
4. Oversee incidents and address requests within a specified technology domain, as directed by the Team Lead
5. Assist with the evaluation of new hardware units and software products through testing
6. Elevate service or project issues to a higher level of authority when they cannot be resolved within the established service level agreements
7. Develop and maintain documentation regarding network design and configuration
8. Engage in courses, workshops, conferences (whether virtual or in-person), and peruse professional publications to keep abreast of current innovations and trends in networked systems
9. Conduct ad-hoc knowledge-sharing sessions for customer implementations when requested

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• BSc. in Information Technology, Engineering or related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution
• A minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in a comparable service support role within the Information Technology field
• Valid CCNA Certificate
• Additional IT certifications, such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet, Microsoft MTA, or their equivalents, would be considered an asset

• Possesses a solid understanding of LAN and WAN structures
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of the infrastructure needs and components essential for network configurations
• Proficient in network protocols and the use of diagnostic tools
• Capable of conveying technical information clearly to users across all proficiency levels
